It is with great pride that we announce the newest member of the Shod Steed company. Joseph Rogers comes to us from North Carolina State University where he has studied animal science. He will earn his baccalaureate degree in May of this year.
He has demonstrated exceptional leadership in his responsibilities as the team leader in the equine breeding and foaling program at the university. Joe served as an assistant manager at Rock House Farm in Hickory, NC where he developed his proficiency in equine husbandry, managing all aspects of daily care, breeding, showing, and sale of the resident horses. In his undergraduate studies Joe earned the prized KEMI internship at Winston Farms in Versailles, KY where he had the privilege of working alongside the veterinarians and farriers of the prestigious Roode & Riddle equine hospital.
Joe’s commitment to excellence and concentrated equine studies background makes him well suited to success as a professional farrier. He is presently working toward certification and plans to successfully complete the certification test this Fall. Please welcome Joe when you next see him at the barn.
